"It's not often that you can say the word dignity"... What young parents say about YPSN

There are many reasons that the members of team Awesome Possums are running for YPSN, but we thought the best way to explain why YPSN is so special, is to let participants tell you themselves:

“When I first found out about YPSN, I was happy just to be meeting people, I was new to Victoria, and it’s so clique-ey. A couple of years ago, I made a big, terrible, mistake, and it was ruining my life. I told someone at YPSN about it – they didn’t get mad, make me feel like crap or turn me away. They helped me figure it out, but didn’t lie to me either. It’s one of those “changed my life” moments, y’know? YPSN changed my life.”

‘Whenever I get back into coming here, my life goes in a better direction – it’s: “You can do that.” “”What can we do to help you get through that?”’

“I found that even with poor decisions I’m making, I’m still allowed to talk about it. People are kind and helpful no matter, and help me make better choices.”

“It’s not often that you can say the word dignity, and mean it. But yes – I do feel like I have dignity here. For whatever I’ve been through, and whatever choices I’ve made, and for whatever reasons I’m ashamed of myself… in here, I am who I am moving towards being. I’m respected, and I can feel that.”

Team Awesome Possum will be running on October 13, 2013 to show their support for these, and all young parents.
